I have a Carter b&b carb on my Dodge 230. The problem is that there is a hair line crack in the lower body molding of the carb.
Can I use some gas tank sealer or something to seal it with out taking it all apart?
It drips about every 4-5 minutes, but should be fixed, I would think.
Thanks,

I took the carb off and examined it. I appears to be a flaw in the casting. It drips about every two minutes onto the exhaust manifold. I applied JB Weld to the outside surface because the inner surface is too hard to get to. I'll know tomorrow if the JB holds.
Wish me luck.
This is a n.o.s. carb, never been used, we'll see.
Thanks,
Jim

J&B didn't work. Made a carb out of two other ones and it works fine.
The leaking carb had a casting crack when manufactured. Ah, the good old days. These cars are so simple to work on. I had the floor boards out to put a clutch in and laying on the ground, I could see all the way up under the dash.
what was there was about 5-6 wires, the ignition switch, light switch, panel guages, the vent lever and alot of space. So different now.
