Does anyone know how to change
out the ignition cylinder
on a 75'Chevy pickup.Do you
have to tear down the column
or is there another way.
Thank You

Insert the key. Straighten out a paper clip and place it in the tiny hole in the lock cylinder bezel. Turn the key back to accessory, press the paper clip hard into the hole and turn the key beyond the accessory position. The cylinder should just pop out.

There is probably a bolt inside the column that holds the cylinder in place. You will need to pull the steering wheel to get at it. The procedure should be in any repair manual that covers your truck.

Pull your steering wheel. Take the turn signal switch screws out. Lift up the turn signal switch and there is a slot where the end of the lock cylinder is. Push a small screwdriver into this slot and the cylinder will come out -- key or no key. Later models, same thimg except thgere is a screw to take out that holds it it. Joe
