Ran 850 miles on the road round trip last week, mostly highway driving 65-75 mph. I have a '49 Chevy 1/2 ton, '56 235 (.30 over) '848 head', single H-W (thanks Tom Langdon), Fentons, dual 30" glasspacks, (thanks Jack), '62 3sp+od (thanks Jack), '57 3.90 rear from a 1/2 ton truck. Stock suspension, but upgrade to conventional dual action shocks with Buffalo mounts all around. Averaged 20 mpg.

I run LT 215 85R 16's with no tubes on stock wheels. with the .70 overdrive and 3.90 open rear end I yield (3.9 X .70= 2.73) which is great highway cruising.

Many thanks to Jack Halton, Tony and Joy Pascarella, Tom Langdon and Buffalo Engineering for inspiration and support.

That's what it's all about. Build them and drive them. Glad to hear you had a good trip. Makes all that time and money seem like it was worth it now.
