Inliners International Forums General Discussion Truck Talk Power Steering Hose

Looking for some info from anybody that has converted their 60-72 Chev Inline powered truck over to P/S. I have been having trouble finding a high pressure hose that will fit correctly. If you have a picture or part number of a hose that worked for you would be greatly appreciated. Both my pump and the box are off of a 1982 Pickup so they both have the o-ring fittings on them.

I have tried the '82 hose and can't get it to fit under the skirt and onto the box. I have had two hoses made and they both blew apart so I am a little hesitant there to spend any more money with them.

I had to bend the fender apron up somewhat to clear the hoses, if done neatly it is not really noticeable. My box came from an '80 model, I used a stock hose for 1980 but I swapped the fitting in the rear of the pump for the Metric fitting from 1980 pump. Brian

Yes, I have it working. We had 4 or 5 hoses in stock at work and I was able to modify one of them with a couple of little bends and got it to fit under the skirt. I was thinking of opening up the skirt a little like 64fleetside had done as that would have helped a lot. I have the Edelman part number but no buyers giude to see what the hose came off of. It has metric fittings on both ends as I also changed the pump to a later year. Thanks for the help.
