Hello everbody, glad to be able to hear from people that know more than I do about old trucks.Am doing a frame up restoration on a 54 GMC 3/4 ton,and cant seem to find parts for the motor. Its a 248 I think, will check casting numbers next now that I have something to go by.Got a spun rod insert but the rest doesnt look too bad.Frame and brakes, king pin bushings, springs all done so now I get to prep and paint the cab and fenders and get the motor assembled.Found NOS roller bearings locally, the back ones look like little footballs, and LMC has cab mounts and door, window seals and whatnot, but I cant find engine parts anywhere. Its a one year only thing and Im stumped.Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks alot,Marc.

For GMC engine parts, try veteran Inliner Patrick Dykes in Casa Grande, Arizona (patstrks@aol.com), who is also a specialist in GMC and Chevrolet light trucks. Write and ask for his catalogue.

God's Peace to you.

Did you ever get some bearings lined up for your 248?
