I had read on one of the threads what numbers to use for the VE in turbo calculations for chevy 250/292s.
iirc there was a number for stock heads and another for modded heads.
I have read thru many many posts and can't seem to find it.....Help, I must be blind or just skimming over it
Will some one please give a link or the info for this.
I was needing the number for a stock head and number for a head that 1.90/1.60 valves, blended, home port job and lumps.
Thanks
Lee

Tom,
Thanks for the links. I had found the first one with the flow numbers, thought I had read one here that had the VE number. I am thinking that the VE number that you use in the turbo calculations is a % of 100. I will look and see if I can find out how to convert the flow numbers to VE. Always more to learn. Maybe thats why the turbo install is so interesting.
Speaking of learning. I bought what was suppose to be a TO4 60-1 off ebay. Got it and it turns out to be a old TO4b with a 1.32 a/r exhaust housing. The guy is making good on it but.....
I am still waiting for Inliners to send me my member number so I can order the intake from you.
They did email me and confirm receipt of my payment.
No hurry, I'm still gathering parts and knowledge for the build.

to help with picking a turbo, use this link. http://www.treadstoneperformance.com/techinfo.phtml . click on the turbo matrix. wait a while for it to load.
on the left pick your motor size.
at the top pick the hp you expect to make.
intersect the lines and you will see the turbo that turbonetics recommends.
for instance on my 292 i have a 62-1 w/P trim and a .68 tangetial housing. the compressor has potential for up to around 600hp. the turbo spools nice and quick and produces 10 psi easily. a 250 would possibly need a 60-1 and the coresponding wheel and housing from the chart. for a 250 with a shorter deck than a 292 than i would also recomend a "on center housing" to place the turbo higher on the engine for frame clearance. tom
