I know I've read some place that a 261 needed a special thermostat can anyone clue me in. If so from who do we order from ????

The 261 truck version uses a bypass thermostat common to trucks of the era. It was also used on V8's of the same period. It has a special bigger housing. Napa can get it, not sure where to get it in Canada or if it is on Canadian models.

The 235 thermostat housing is interchangeable.
