I recently purchased one of Langdon's HEI distributors for the 235 Chevy engine (57 Model 3100). The instructions call for moving the timing tab from the flywheel to the harmonic balancer. What solutions have you come up with that works to accomplish this? Thanks.

Jerry,

You want to imitate how it is on the front of most small block chevy V8s - a timing tab with pointer, TDC marked on the balancer.

The pointer was made from a piece of stainless steel scrap from a cardboard template; you could also use a "timing tape" but they don't hold up too well. The timing marks were punched onto the balancer with a punch set.
