I have a Chevy 250 with Offy 4 bbl intake and Edelbrock 500 cfm carb.
1. The kickdown hits the intake so I'm thinking of getting a 1/2" spacer to gain some clearance.
2. I need to turn the throttle linkage 90 degrees since the carb mounts "sideways" on the intake. I've searched and read the threads about which way is best, but I haven't been able to find any pictures or info about a linkage to make the 90 degree turn. I got the intake by itself from Ebay, so I don't have the whole mounting kit it comes with new. Where can I get a linkage and does anyone have pics of a similar set up?
Thanks.

well, the elbow part came with the intake when i bought it new. maybe theres a way to get a replacement through jcwhitney or from offenhouser themselves. otherwise, what i did since i work in the transmission industry is took an old transmission t.v. cable and cut it at the transmission end, and then ran it from the carb ( a small machine threaded bolt with a round head ground down to fit the "teardrop"), through the insulation and to the pedal. i used 2 cable locks to ensure it wouldnt come loose. in the kit that comes with the intake is also a new aluminum pivot arm that mounts to the side of the intake and as you can see i dont use it. i noticed with the origional throttle cable that it seemed to have a lot of resistance so i reworked it as you see in the pic. if you notice, i used the origional metal pivot arm that came off the single barrel intake and used it as a means to hook up the tv cable for the 700r4 that i run in the car. it took a bit of work to get the geometry right, but it was so worth it. 3800 lb 4 door ventura and it gets 18 mpg or better all the time.

Any more pictures or ideas? I've been researching throttle cable brackets all over and don't see anything obvious. My current setup doesn't use a cable at all. A metal rod connects the throttle to a lever arm coming through the firewall connected to the pedal. I guess I've got to get rid of the rod, hook a cable to the lever, then turn the cable 90 degrees at the carb?

Hi Pete; Here is what I cobbled together. I scrounged everything from the local u-pull-it yard. Plus bent up a few tabs out of scrap stainless steel. My Nova has a cable but your throttle rod could pull that cable that loops around the carb just as easy. I even saw a guy that used bicycle cable to do the same thing. There are more pictures on my links below.

pete, You need to make a bellcrank assy. In the past, I have used the factory bell crank and mounted it on the intake on top. Then make a connector rod to the carb. Tom The 2nd bracket was for the 700r4 TV cable
