Stock pistons - cast? From what I've read, mostly on this forum, I thought cast pistons were much riskier, less durable than forged.

Why twelve injectors? For better injection control or volume?

If at first you don't succeed,
then read the directions and try again.

Thanks.

Hank: didn't run the 1/4 mile Yet, ,but sholud run mid to high 12's.

jim W: Yes, cast pistons are used, and they much weaker than forged ones. I told my brother he is pushing the envelope. In fact, he already broke some ring lands, but that was due to a lean mixture (he is stiil pushing the envelope, since this engine produces around 380 hp and 400 fl/lbs of torque!). It's fixed now. Keep away detonation, run on the rich side and hold on for your life (and engine´s life). Ethanol has a much higher octane rating (around 103) than pump gas and promotes a cooler intake charge. 12 injectors are used for beter control AND volume. 6 Ford racing re used when running normally aspirated and more 6 (custom modified Bosch injectors) when under boost.

An alcohol engine has a big apetite, around 30% more than a gasoline engine, so fuel delivery is critical.
