I'm in the process of installing my 250 motor into my 1954 chevy 1/2 ton pickup. I puchased the motor mounts from tom langdon and have them mounted on the motor. I've got the motor into the truck and the bolt holes on the bell housing line up perfectly with the rear cross member. Clearance on the bell housing is good about 3/4 of an inch. Everything looks good but not sure if the rear of the motor needs to be lowered or not. I'm installing a different rearend also and have it removed. Can I assume the carb has to be level when the truck is sitting level though that doesn't work when your climbing a hill.
I wasn't sure if I would have to build a crosmember for the rear of engine or not. The way it sits it looks fine now. thanks mark
