Inliners International Forums General Discussion Drive Train Just got to give you guys a laugh

So yesterday I take my 17 year old son to check out a 1972 Maverick in a neighboring town. Body and interior were very nice. Owner had replaced the original 200 with a 250, but otherwise the drivetrain was stock.

During the test drive, which was all of about 10 minutes, the left rear wheel/tire departed the car. We watched it roll past us on the left for about another 1 1/2 blocks while we ground to a stop.

My son decided not to buy it. Good head on that boy!

Thought you all might enjoy a good laugh.

I hate it when you get passed by pieces of your own car. It just doesn't seem fair.

bearings are cheap... might have been a good opportunity to teach the kid about rearend maintenance and get the car for a good price!!!

I bet it was peppy with the 250 before the tricycle conversion.

friend of mine had his race car and trailer pass him.
