Greetings . . .

The Carburetor Shop shows that model number was for a 1972 truck with a 250.

regards,

The throttle bore on your Monojet is smaller than one for a 292. Even with bigger jets your 292 would starve for air on the upper RPMs, and full throttle would lack in performance. The only real answer is the right Monojet, or a bigger carb, 2bbl, 4bbl. The Holley/webber (Weber DGAV) I've read doesn't work either, always on/off the throttle. Considering your location maybe tough to find something.

The 250 carb could be smaller than the 292 carb but give it a try I bet it will be fine. Especially in Amman Jordan (wow) I bet carbs are hard to find over there? \:o

I have run and clocked the earlier Rochester B carbs - the smaller 194cid/230cid version and the big 292cid version - swap em around on a 250 then a 292 engine and clock both - they run equally strong, dont seem to care which engine they are on. No rejetting needed. Of course the big carb will run better on a big 292, but a carb from a 250 will run fine, just have a little less top end. \:\)

to find a monojet carb. is really hard, but 2bbl and 4bbl and all V8 parts are easy to find special for the engines 300, 350. i believe my engine 292 is the only I6 engine running where i live, lucky me...
All truck guys running V8 engine.
thank you guys for the help

Speaking of a monojet carb, I currently have one on my 292 engine and it seems to be running rich (i think) but i can't seem to "see" any adjustment screws (newbie).

I have installed a new aire cleaner, new plugs, and new larger plug wires and each item seems to make the engine idle rougher when at a stop light (tranny still in drive) but in neutral at a stop light it will idle a bit better.

Any thoughts?

Thanks
Dave
