Hello guys, yesterday I decided to go fast with my truck (engine is stock 292) I am not a speed fan; so I hit the gas, throttle wide opened, after maybe 10-20 sec. the engine stop response but it did not shutdown I removed my leg of the pedal slightly hit the gas again the engine reposed but I had to drive normally. Fuel tank is almost full; I changed the fuel filter nothing changed. I asked my friend he is mechanics he told me it is normal it happened sometimes even with V8 engine, is there anything I can do or should I live with it.

Sounds like fuel delivery. Restriction in the fuel line? Clogged inlet filter or debris inside the fuel tank?

Don't forget that they came with a filter on the pickup tube (sock filter) located in the fuel tank.....my 81 still had it in place even after all of these years...that can also be a source of trouble....fats

Any news on this problem?

I have seen something like this on olde rcars, when the fuel tank venting is not working. I don't know how yours is vented, but it's another thing to look at. As fuel is drawn out, the fuel tank needs replacement air to get it. Otherwise you create a vacuum in the tank after some time of driving, and the pump struggles to draw any more fuel out.

Before you go and drop the tank try and find a vented gas cap.Or just tap into the filler neck to vent it.That way you will not have to drop the tank.
