OK...so I'm feeling really stupid. I bought some Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings for my upper and lower control arms on my Bel Air. The instructions told me that on the lower control arm I would have to reuse some of the metal parts. I incorrectly interpreted that to mean the outer shells only.

Turns out I also needed to keep and reuse the front and rear ferrules on the ends of the bushings. They are also called cap washers in some literature.

Here are some images. These are just to illustrate the ferrules. The K6134 has them, while the K6055 does not.

I was wondering if any of you knew where I could get just the ferrules? Worst case is I buy two K6134s and pull the ferrules off, but I wanted to ask you guys first.

Thanks.

Try Energy Suspension or PST, I'm pretty sure you're not the first person to do this. \:\)

Thanks alot for the tip, you would think they would sell their product complete...kinda the way they expect you to PAY them complete!

Had considered getting a set for a late "Aussie" GTO (getting parts for no longer made Pontiac is dismal at best-Body parts-near impossible) Would have been really pissed if they had done that on those parts too. And they might-dont know, and now dont want to find out. Hard bushings are bad for noise on "unibodies" anyways-wont notice this on the big body chevys.

"65-'66 big chevys were really bad on lower balljoints, every 65,000 miles(and at 130,000 miles if you kept one that long)-did many front end rebuilds on those years. Idler arms can be a prob-be sure to check or tighten- some that had adjustments (whoops- missed a chance for "forced replacement" on that part) Starting to feel that GM aint really my friend (think Ignition switches, a/c controls, bad wiring to in-tank fuel pumps), lets not speak of "security" light problems!
