Hi all, first thanks to all who had advice regarding my current 250. I am actually picking up another one that should be ready to go while I fix up my current one.
One thing I would like to do is to clean up the coolant hose routing. I think I have seen pics of people using hard lines from the block to the intake. It looks like there is a water port on the lower driver side of the block. Can I use this to route coolant to the intake and then from the intake to the head port near the #2 cylinder? Any other ideas? Pics would be great too!!!

Here is mine. Used metal hard line from the drain hole on block. You need the other end as close to the thermostat as possible, so it will flow.

I drilled and tapped for a fitting in the water pump inlet for the suction side and used the port near #2 on the head for the pressure side. I plumbed hard lines. Seems to work good.
One problem with my approach is the water pump is now a modified part but I don't see that as a major problem. If I had a water pump failure and had to replace it on the road I would just have to plug the pressure port and go without heat to get home.

Thanks guys.
I guess I could move my temp sender to the head and use that port on the t-stat housing as the return line from the intake.
Other idea was to make a Tee at t-stat housing and run the sender and the return line into that one port.
Thoughts?

If the temp sender is in the same location. The cooler coolant coming from the intake will throw off the temp reading. Did that on mine and the temp readings are reading cool at highway speeds.
If there was a way to run the hard line into above tstat. That would be the best.
