If whoever is making the changes on the website reads the forums there seems to be no link to get to the FORUMS from the NEW HOME PAGE.

Yep, That's what I suspected, no connection to here.

I just saw this thread, very timely.

I sent an email today to the President since they were asking for suggestions in the last newsletter. I basically said "why not have a link on the very nice web page to the forum". It seems like it would be a good way to drive use up on the forum and show people what a useful archive they're supporting by becoming members.

Thanks. I tell him that in person nearly every meeting. Those who don't use the forums don't seem to care. Those who would care don't know there are forums. This use to be a lively site. frown

Morning Beater,
Yes, this used to be a lively organization until the elites ruined it. Starting with Will
Willis ,it?s been down hill ever since. It truly amazes me why members keep beating
this DEAD HORSE.

41, While I agree leadership has been a big problem, There are few good leaders and not a lot of good followers. I know Al has really tried to resuscitate this organization. He doesn't get much from the remaining membership. That said I see three things as the real killers of this website/forums. #1 The facebook page sucked a big hunk of the traffic from here with no connection to here. I could have linked. #2 Rebuilding part of the website and cutting the link to the forums. #3 A society that lives on their cell phones. We are dinosaurs.

Hi,
It's 4/11/25 and I just came from the web site homepage where I could find no link to the forum.
I had to use google to find the forum.
I agree, facebook really hurt the forums.
Also there are 292 and 250 related groups which probably draw traffic away from Inliners.

Pete

P.S. The facebook page does have a link to the website but not the forum.
However the facebook page needs to have the website link moved higher up in the "About this Group" portion so it's easier to see.

Thanks Pete for pointing this. I don't think there is much chance of it making a difference since the as far as I know the folks in charge do not participate in the forums. They are about attending car shows not building cars with inline engines.

So here you guys are. I hadn't been able to get past the Home page for months. I arrived here by accident. I was Googling for info on a 194 engine with front sump. I found a link directly to the Engine Forum Page.
I don't come around this forum that often as my '67 GMC 292 is newer than most of the inlines you guys talk about. I always find something good to read about when I do visit.
I don't use any social media , so I don't see any of those "Groups". Keep up the good work, guys.

Glad you found us! There is a special group of tech experts that have been "upgrading" our website for a few years now. None of them actually use it same as the officers of the club. They don't need it because they don't have any cars with inline engines. So evidently even though they have been told several times there is no link to the forums on the home page it just doesn't matter. The website only functions to collect dues.
