I realize it's a lot quieter around here than it used to be, but I still consider this place to be a wealth of knowledge on the in line sixes. Not just the old threads, but also the people. I've been occasionally messing with my 250 on and off dice since the 90s. I've finally gotten serious about a build.

The engine is a 292 my dad and I bought to go into his 32 olds. Our inspiration came from following the snowman 250 turbo thread. He had DG machine build it for a turbo, but then never did get the car build done. He passed away in 2020, and I'd like to drop it into my '69 olds. We bought the v8 mounts, and it fits! Hood clearance is tight, but we have about an inch of clearance between the valve cover and the hood. I don't have much info on the build, I'm hoping to track it down somewhere in my dad's paperwork.

I've got questions, if there is interest, I'd love to start a conversation here.

The 292 can be tall under the hood of cars. Sometime side breathers on the VC are needed.
What are your questions? Car or engine or both?

Engine, for now. (And by the way, thanks for the parts) I have not had a chance to go through some of the older threads regarding turbo 292 fuel injection; I'll work through those over the next few months. Don't hesitate to just send me there, if this has been answered before.

Intake manifold heat: I have an Aussie speed and an old Clifford intake. Neither has heat. The intent is to run 8-12 pounds of boost through an inter-cooler. My thought is that I shouldn't need intake heat because the air charge will already be pretty warm. But, then, looking at Josh's video (snowman4839), and he mentions air temp is practically ambient at the throttle body because is inter-cooler is maybe oversized.

Intake manifold choice: Has anyone had any issues pairing up the Aussie speed manifold with the turbo spa manifold and tying in the turbo?

Mega-squirt: We are going to attempt a mega-squirt setup--because why do it the easy way--looks like there are some really successful builds with the TBI, but, IIRC Tom, did you play around with multi-port injection? Gains? Did you need to divide the intake runners to see any improvements?

I've got Leo Santucci's books, and several of the recommended turbo books--don't hesitate to kick me back to them!

Engine details:
292
bored .040 over
crank: Six counterweight nodular cast iron
JE custom pistons, 40cc dish
Comp cam: Intake:206, Exhaust: 206, 113LC, Hydraulic
Head: the build was in 2015, the info has been lost, but I know we did hardened seats and a 3 angle valve job. No lumps, bosses are still there.
The V8 engine mount adaptor plates actually lowered the engine in the GM A body by around 1/2 inch, which helped with hood clearance.
Thanks

Lookup project Hussy (292build) on YouTube and get in touch with Dan He can get you in the right Direction with the multi port injection. He has done alot with the multi port injection and will have better info then what you will get here. And you can tell him I sent you his way.
