Spent a couple of hours at this years Piston Power Show in Cleveland. Not as many examples of inline powered vehicles than years past. I came across this truck and circled back later for a closer look.

The owner was there and setting up for the evening crowd. Including opening the hoods. He says the 292 underneath the bolt-on stuff is all stock. He plans to disassemble and build it for more power. He's happy with the Holley Sniper - says it tunes well with the blow-through setup. Power gets to the rear wheels via T5.

The theme for the build is a moonshiner's rig with a hiding in plain sight approach to the product:

though the Chicago Typewriter sorta screams up to no-good:

Nice truck! A bit too shiny for me but it looks solid ant the power train is cool. Reminds me of the '40 I had in the 60s. It had a mild build 261 and a great driver.

I can't take to much credit for the quality of the photos. I just point and shoot. The software in the Samsung Galaxy phone makes quick work of the subject and can cope with even the most difficult exposures:

But I guess I can take credit for the framing . . . cool

I agree. It think that this ratty paint scheme is best with satin clear coat - or even an over sprayed dull clear coat.

But I am also torn. The body is in good enough shape for block sanding and a proper paint job.
