Is there a diffrence between the distibuter from a '54 235 and a distributer from a '56 261?
And if there is a diffrence what is it?

I am using a 235 distr on my 261 right now, this one is worn and needs to be replaced.
the rest of the engine is rebuild so i want to have this new to.

I am also using the 235 carb on my 261 and i think i will replace that one to. Is there a diffrence in these carbs?

There is no difference. All 216 235 and 261 distr interchange as do 228 to 302 jimmys. I can't say for sure about carbs they should bolt on but I don'tknow about jetting

The bore of the 261 carb is about 1 11/16" where as the 235 is about 1 9/16". The venturi size is different also. You can continue to use the 235 sized carb if you have to.
