Hello all,

I have been doing a lot of reading on the I6 250 Chevy ( I have on in my camaro ), and based on what I plan on doing for a buildout ( listed below ) I was wondering if some of the more experienced here could tell me what I should expect for power, and what design flaws I may be missing.

I plan on:
- installing the maximum allowable sized valves
- Lump Porting the heads ( intake and Exhaust )
- putting in a Cam that is ~ 265i - 275e ( Comp Cam has the guy I want )
- 8:1 Compression ( undecided on the pistons )
- Eagle H Rods
- Stock Crank
- .60 over
- ARP on the main cap
- Clevit Mains
- Clifford Headers
- Holly 600cfm
- Clifford Intake ( H20 heated )
- Powerdyn Blower ( ~6 lbs )
- magnaflux block, head, etc,
- line bore ( if needed )
- Balance entire assembly
- Pertronix FlameThrowerII ignition and coil

I am looking for a car to get me up and down the mountains here in Colorado, and I am thinking this will do it. Is anything out of place or missing here? Any idea what type of power I should get from this? My Target top RPM is 5500k

P.S. Love the Inliner's performance manual...

Thank you,

Hugh

don't run the clifford headers, they are hard to keep sealed. use langdons cast iron manifolds. don't use the pertronox, use a gm hei instead. much more reliable and easier to get parts for. only put in sbc 1.90 intake valves. much less shrouding takes place in the chamber. thats my 2 cents. looks like a good plan over all. tom

Cool,

Thx, on the header tip. I didn't know of another setup out there..

1.9 is the largest I'm going on the valves. Again, thanks for the tips.

Pesonaly There is nothing wrong with cliffords headers I ran them for about 10 years Before I started building my own. But for Long term Toms will out last them. as for pistons No matter whos you go with Just be sure they're Not Cast. As to the Head The 1.94i and 1.6e Besure to Unshroud them in the combustion chamber thats good for up about 20cfm Depending on how you go about unshrouding them. If you're talking about .060 over on the block why not do a .030 This way you can easily do a rebuild again If ever in need of one again. Unless you're just after the extra Cubes.
