Can anyone tell me the process of changing a 18R rod to an insert type bearing? I'm rebuilding my '53 235 and I've got everything good to go except the rod bearings. It wasn't making noise or anything, but all the bearings except one have big chunks taken out of them. I'm also not too sure if I even have 18R rods. The number on them is 3835274 GM 111. Any help as to the direction I should take would be appreciated.

I was also reading about the insert bearings saying that the Max/Min shaft diameter is 2.312/2.311", but my rod journals on the crank are 2.301. Anyways, any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Deke
