If the carbs you're using are anything like the older versions, then there would be a hole at the base of the carb for vacuum to operate the power valve. You don't want to block this off. If all you did was bolt on the carbs and didn't use the proper spacer which has a slot in it for allowing vac to reach that hole, it could be all or part of the problem.

Again, if they are similar to the older version, then the jets would be the same as ones from a common 2GC 2bbl rochester. If the local parts stores can't help, then there are several internet places that should have what you need. Just go surfing...
You need to know what you have before you can try changing them. Its usually recommended to go no more than 2 sizes different at a time.

Are you running these carbs all together or are they progressive? How much vac signal at idle?
Are you sure they are all the same size? If progressive, do you still have the idle and power circuits hooked up or are they plugged?

My roomate soldered up his jets and used a jet drill to resize them smaller. Find out what number jet you need and most hardware stores sell numbered drill bytes.

Any late 50's or 60's factory shop manual would have a diagram and explanation of the internals of the carbs. If you don't have a manual, try the local library. It's always a good idea to have a shop manual on hand for any car that you have.

If a shop manual isn't to be found then you can pick up a rebuilding kit for one of the carbs. They are pretty much the same kit for all the models of the B Rochester. The instructions in the rebuild kit will get you through a complete teardown and call out all the parts. If you don't need to use anything from the kit at least you'll have it around if someday it is needed. Last one I bought was 4 years ago from Auto Zone and cost under $8.00 so might be about 10 bucks now. The Sorenson kit has very complete directions and the pics to go with it.

hey oldskool:
the best help you could get is right here on this website!!
look over to your left in the blue menu column, and you will see "Tech Tips".
click on that link, then click on "Multiple Rochesters".
excellent information, photos, and illustrations!
it helped me immensely.

P.S.
you probably will need to check out my topic of "leaky carburetors" under the tech tips FORUM.
