thanks for replying bob308 & mikeg/i have a stock 216&3spd.in the car now.would i have to modify the shift linkage to use the 55 3speed and also would this 235 have solid or hydraulic lifters.the seller dosen't know much about the engine.he pulled it out of the 55 to change to a v8.says the 235 didn't have enough h.p.for him!
