I just goe my 250 back from the machine shop and I am starting to reassembly things I have a questions on the connecting rods/pistons. I know that the pistons have a marked side for the front of the engine but do the rods? Thanks...

yes, i think the tang on the cap was toward the cam but please call the machine shop to verify that. it's been about a year since i did mine and it's hard to remember. i called the machine shop i used and they told me. if they are the ones out of the engine you can mark them when you take them out. sorry i'm no more help than that. hoggyrubber

The small hole in the rods lines up with a small hole in the rod bearings. The purpose is to spray oil against the lobes of the cam to lubricate them. Face the holes to the cam side of the engine and the rods will be installed correctly. Are you using full floating pins? If not then why didn't the machine shop assemble the rods and pistons for you? Pressing pins into rods is not a typical home garage operation.
