I have a 3836850 head and have not been able to find that casting # in any of the listings.
Thanks

Welcome Opee, Assuming the head doesn't use shaft mounted rocker arms, you might contact Langdons Stovebolt Engine Co.... If it does try Becks, These sites are located on the rightside of Home page under 12 port advertisers. Another possibility would be Larrowe & Sons in the same list.

OK now I am really confused.
The block from this engine has a # 950 on the manifold side.
It does not have front motor mounts like my 235.
It has 2 1" diameter holes at the top of the front side for the water pump.
It is a 3 3/4 bore x 3 15/16 stroke
I will take pics once I clean the block.
Anyone have an idea what this 261 came from?

After searching for 2 hours last night I found it is a 1954-55 261.
Now I can get the parts to build it.
Thanks

Does your 261 engine have the side motor mounts (54 and 55 first)? Is it complete? I've got a good running 55 second but would like to have a 54 so I can keep the original mounts in my car. If you'd like to discuss it further, email me at jwk6669@aol.com

Thanks. joe
