I had an F head in my Jeep(1961.) I had the head milled .060" which made a tremendous difference. High comp/ pistons were factory avail(7.4:1) I believe. I took good care of the engine, didn't over rev. it, however, it still went through valves pretty fast. Put in a Chevy II four banger(90HP) and they had to move me up a class with the 6 cyl. engines. Anyway, if you are up for a great 4 banger, that would work well. Pontiac Iron Duke and others are available now. If you are in love with that engine, they made a 6 cyl in Willys cars that would give you more power and maybe greater longevity.
