Worse case, make the day of the race some where in the 90s and require a 50 mile drive prior to racing. The flathead will overheat and you will win by default.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

I want to stick really close to the vintage rules. The rear end won't look all that different whether it's 57 Chevy or 74 Nova, plus it'll be hard to see anyway. The T5 is also not much of a violation. The car and engine must look vintage.

RapRap, I thought about the 292, but that would require me to start all over from scratch, new engine, new carbs, new intake, etc, plus they weren't around in the 50s. A 261 would be a good choice, but I haven't been able to find one in over a year, and now I have a running, bored over 235. I pretty much have everything I need to get going with the 235. In stock form, I think the 235 and the 8BA have similar HP ratings, so it's an ideal match for comparing engines and builder skill.

Bruce, can you tell me more about those heads? You don't mean the new Wayne stuff do you? That would be really cool, but I think that would cost more than what I have in the car so far including the car itself!

what are some suggestions for lightening the car up? I probably will chop it a few inches eventually, but that won't save a lot of weight. The seats need to stay in and I hate buckets.
