Just thought I'd share my experiences regarding new engine mounts. I decided to replace my 250 engine mounts recently after discovering 1 was cracked and the other looked like it was starting to melt (no, it wasn't melting-just looked that way). I got new ones at my LAPS and saw they were made in India. "That's not a good sign", I thought. They looked completely different than the original and were difficult to get installed. While attempting to get one in, I discovered that the one 9/16" hole was in fact a 1/2" hole like the other 3 holes, but the other mount had appropriate sized holes matching the original. After taking them back and complaining I began looking for original style mounts and much to my surprise discovered that everyone carries the exact same crappy engine mount. Part #2282 for a 1967 Chevy 1/2T 250. I thought I'd call the dealer and get a price on an original Delco mount and was expecting about $60 but in fact they're around $80. Way too much for my blood so I decided to modify the aftermarket mount.
Below you'll see the original on the right and the aftermarket on the left. In the middle is my modified mount. The whole reason I had to cut this part away was due to the limited clearance on my engine crossmember and the fact that one can't get a wrench or a socket in that 9/16" hole in the rubber. That's why the original doesn't have any rubber there! Anyway, I got them on and they should work great.

I'm disappointed though, that my truck is beginning to become a foreign truck despite being made in America with many parts now being made in India and China. Notice how poorly they're made?
