My motor is a 292, and they fit the way I would like just under the frame. You are probably right the headers are made for 292s and hang below the frame too far on a 250. The market being what it is for our sixes, we are lucky we can get anything. I bought my headers off yabe for $75 including shipping and had to modify them to fit. I suggest you either figure on modifying the headers and coating them or buy a set of Stovebolts as has already been suggested. Then you could build a set of custom headers too.
btw the manufacture will probably no give the measurement what want. If you ask for tube length you will get length from port to collector. You want the height from exhaust bolt to bottom of collector.
