I]ve got a 1951 GMC 1/2 ton with a chevy 250 cid
and a 420 SM tranny. I bought a Napa clutch kit for it 1/2 year ago installed it and drove it. The TO bearing then was a 1 1/16", but I had no adjustment at the offset link.
Well the nose cone broke on the tranny so I pulled everthing out to repair,and change the TO. Couldn't fine another like that so I used a shorter one 3/4", big mistake couldn't adjust for freeplay or if i went the other diection wouldn't go into gear.So I removed everything again and I'm going to try a 1 41/64" bearing. What do you think my chances are.The pressure plate is the diaphragm type.
