I am new to the forum. My current project is a slant six dragster with 6 snowmobile carbs built in the 60's traditional style.(solid rear, front engine 96" wheel base)
Have done a few sixes before I retired. Several slant 6s including a turbo deal, some 300 ford sixes and my last engine was a 250 chev six. But to be truthful i bleed mopar blue. Glad to see there are still folks around who appreciate 6 in a row.

There is an old photo here about 1/2 way down the page. It was in the early 70s that we ran it. it was a 170 cu inch engine froma valiant and a corvair turbo charger. It worked perfectly and never gave a seconds trouble. A first we used the corvair carb then we built a holley adaplter to bolt to the turbo and used a list 1850 600 cfm Holley.
Car was 3rd in the first ever $1000 bracket race at the NHRA track in Cayuga Ontario. Stu Denyes owned it . I looked after the engine stuff from my old shop Power Tune Up

I am not done yet. I was istalling seat belts and seat yesterday. should be finished that by Monday.
I still have to mount throttle linkage from the cabs to my foot and make a shifter for the trans. Then it all comes apart for final welding inspection and chassis paint. (Body panels were painted a week ago)
I dont worry about the length much. Many altered and gassrsers are as short or shorter. Other than a 45 lb fiberglass body there is acutally little difference. We ran a slant 6 turbo altered in the early seventies. It was 90 inch and absolutely no trouble at all. I dont expect this motor to give much over 250 hp and even a full power version would only be 300 to 325 so it should be ok. Nicest part is it fits in the back of a half ton truck. No trailer required. That how we transported the altered too, in fact folks who raiced at Cayuga in the early seventes may remember the couple of ol farm boys who used the bring their bantam altered there in the back of a GMC 3/4 ton truck. Yup that was us! Stu Denyes owned the Altered then and the engine was mine. We always borrowed his "old man's" truck to truck it there.
