After planning to build a flathead MOPAR engine for two years, I recently found a '51 Crosley coupe at a price I couldn't turn down.
The engine runs, but I'm going to go through it before I get out on the road. Hopefully, I'll have it roadworthy before the Jalopy Jamboree next spring.
The last Crosley engine I rebuilt was in '59, so I've got to get a shop manual and find locations for parts.
If anyone knows of a set of doors, with roll-up windows and little, or no rust, I'd like to buy a pair. The ones I have are rusty and will require a lot of work to make 'em presentable. Rest of the car is pretty good.
Anyway, would like to hear from anyone with Crosley experience.
Lord, let me live long enough to do all the projects I have planned!

You may as well start your quest here http://crosleyautoclub.com/ There used to be a class of inboard hydroplanes that used the motors out of them quite a bit so there may be some goodies available. Cute little toots, I have a friend with a v860 in a wagon.

When I was 11 years old my dad owned a body shop and built me a 3/4 midget that had a Crosley drivetrain in it, a common powerplant for these racers. One day a customer saw it and made him an offer he couldn't refuse. My circle track career ended before it started.
Sure would like to know what ever became of that car. Never saw it again.

Mr48chev, I remember the Crosley hydroplanes when I was growing up in Florida, back in the '50s. They were screamers! I know a fellow, here in Pa, who builds these engines for others, both stock and modified. I'm gaining knowledge about them every day.
I recently saw an Ed Roth inspired Crosley wagon in Hot Rod, or Rod and Custom, recently, with a V8-60 in it. Would it be your friend's?
Frenchtown, It's a shame you didn't get to drive that midget your dad built.....what a blast for a kid that would have been! I've seen photos of some feather-weight Crosley-powered dragsters...that gives me ideas!

That would be Bill's car I believe. He builds at least one or more cars a year most years.
