Tatao's post about the 216 carb on the 235 got me worried. I have a vintage Tattersfield 2x1 intake that I was going to use on a 235, but now I have a 261 so I was going to stroke it. The intake is made for a 216, but can be made to fit a 235 easily. I have 2 freshly rebuilt Carter w-1s to use with it. After all the time and money I spent rebuilding those Carters I'm afraid to ask, but will they be enough on a bored/stroked 261? I REALLY want to keep the Tattersfield, so if the Carters won't cut it, what 1bbl will? I do not want to use a 4bbl or 2bbl.
Thanks,
Joe

Dear Joe;

I whould recommend an EFI unit of some kind.

I am planing to use a Holly on my 278".
It's 670 CFM and is adjustable if inside the car.

Good luck, John M., #3370.

I think the carters will be fine on the 261. Just make sure you port match the manifold.

You may try 2 oft the Weber/Holley carbs that Tom Langdon offers for 65$.

They are progressive carbs an can be jetted to feed enough gas for your engine.

Hi Joe!

I asked Mr. Langdon which he recommend for a offy triple setup.

as mentioned above (for street application)he recomends the prog. Holly/Weber 2bbl. you just need adaptor plates for the carb and the special Holly/Weber linkage. as it works on the offy 2x1 intake I suppose it should also work on the tattersfield.

...but I think I read that you wanna race against your friend, so you probably should stay with the 1bbl carbs - somewere I read Zenith are the best...

regards,
Markus
