When I converted my '50 Chevy sedan to open drive line, I installed a '56 station wagon rear end, so I could change the rear ratio easily. With a stock 230 motor and the '58 overdrive, the 4:11 gear worked great, cruisin, pulling a trailer or on the freeway.
