Matt: These are two sites that helped me with selecting a T-5. If you are lucky enough to find a donar car/truck with the motor still in it (for the engine code) this site will give you the gear ratios for that engine:

http://www.thirdgenresource.com/transmissions_information/ One more thought. Remeber that because you find a T-5 in a V8 Camoaro/Firebird/S-10 doesn't necessaarily meant the trans is the one that came in the car from the factory.
It may be a replacement from another vehicle. So...check the tag or make sure its original
PS I'm not surprised Phils mechanical speedo fit the T-5. The 39 Chevy speedo cable and coupler just screw right into the T-5!
