The 205-70 should fit the Back But it may not clear the front fender. It May? rub the front lowwer part of the fender Depending onthe rim offset. Hope this helps}[oooooo]

Something else to think about when using radials on any rim is making sure the sidewall relationship doesn't become so severe that it causes squirming problems. The simplest way is to measure the actual tread width of the tire you want to use and make sure it is plus or minus one half inch of the width of the rim. Most typical passenger car radials have a single or two ply sidewall so an 8 inch treaded tire on a 6 inch rim puts the sidewalls at an angle where they do not properly support the load on the wheel. The old bias ply tires had extremely stiff sidewalls so pretty much anything that would fit on the rim within reason would work.

If your Nova has 6 inch wide wheels then a radial with 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 inch tread width should be ideal.

High performance radials are even more critical for exact rim width. You tire dealer should have a chart with rim recommendations for the tires you want to buy.

One thing I forgot to mention..... I had a 67 Chevy II that I ran Good Year Eagle ST P205/70-14's on 6 inch wheels with no rubbing or handling problems. The car had all original chassis and suspension.

Have you considered 15 or 16" wheels and tires?
Don't know if keeping hubcaps is an issue.
This is a link to the Team Chevelle wheel and tire forum.
http://www.chevelles.com/forum/ultimatebb.php?ubb=forum;f=8
I'd look for a similar Nova site.
The Chevelle site can be read and searched for things like backspace, maximum width and the like. Entertaining if nothing else.
No doubt a 64-5 Chevelle and a 67 Nova are similar in having tight rear wheel wells.
You can look up tire dimensions on the
BFGoodrich site to compare widths and diameters.

ill keep looking and see what i can come up with

Economics are important too.
Here's a link to a BFG page for the Control Plus tire.
http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/assets/pdf/control_plus.pdf
It happens to come in all the 14" sizes being discussed.
It seems that the P205/70R14 is a pretty good replacement for a P185/75R14.
I don't see it being a problem for fit.
You could always have them mount one and try all four corners.
