Under my 46 Chevy, have had the following:
1954 torgue tube in a 47 passenger 6 lug axle, 56 pickup 3:90 and finally a 66 pickup (6 lug)3:08 ratio.

A local friend is running a S-10 Chevy 4x4 with 3:40 something gears.
