I have a 67 c20 with 8 lug wheels and 4 wheel drum brakes. I am wonder what are my options for converting to a 5 lug patten. I dont plan on hauling anything massive with the truck so I do not need it to be super duty. Thanks

i have a couple of 3/4 ton trucks and the drums are all wider than the 1/2 ton 5 lug ones. most 3/4 and 1 tons are 8 lug. i think i saw a international 1 ton with 5 lug wheels one time. i guess you could switch out axles. the 3/4 ton have full floating axles so the stuff won't interchange. if the spindle is the same on 1/2 ton you could just change drum, brakes, bearings . i don't know about that i bet you would have to change the whole front end.it will be interesting to see what others that know more say about this. hoggyrubber

Dear Fucho;

The C-20 & C-30 series trucks are 3/4 & 1 ton vehicles respectively.

If you want a '5 lug' set up buy a C-10 which is a 1/2 ton.

Good luck. \:\)

I know a 72 Chev half-ton will get you five lugs with a rear end and front suspension swap. I BELIEVE that the 73-86 half will also work.
