Sup hometowns...
I just recently moved to the hills in the country and the cam that was sweet on flat land turned sour and I need a fix man...
From experience with RV cams, who's specs delivers the goods BEST from 1000-1500 rpm?
The hill to the top of the crib is darn steep but luckily I have that 2004R so it aint too bad right now. But the curvy road out of the canyon is the main problem. ***Believe me when I tell you this, it aint because of the 63 C10's inability to go round turns...these trucks when close to the weeds are awesome for going fast in the canyon...I call these trucks in da hills......."TRON"
I'm gonna miss that 3500RPM JOLT but at this point, those days are over and I need the fuerza down low man.
Any ayuda greatly appreciated.
Happy new year homeboys!
RM

When I lived in the hills of Kentucky, I had a mildly modified 250 in a '66 C-10 (dual rochesters, dual exhaust, HEI, ext, ext. I came from Florida and the flat high-speed running was over for me. Like you, I needed more low-end umph. After some discussion with the local Chevy guys, I went to a Wolverine "RV" grind cam. For me, it was just what I needed. The power came on at a lower RPM and it pulled good to about 4,000. Check with you local parts supplier. JC Whitney also sells Wolverine cams.
Lord, let me live long enough to do all the projects I have planned!

I bought the Woverine dual duration 270 cam from Tom Langdon for my 292. It's a very nice cam with a mild lumpy sound and great power through out the gears. Check you rear end ratio. If you're climbing hills, any gear below a 3:23 will feel like it bogs down on a hill climb. I use a 3:55 but I have a T-5 infront of it. Taller rear tires will also affect hill driving aspects. Lots to think about, right?

Sup fellas. fingersix check out the pics. www.fungusworks.com/TheShow/html/engine.html The last picture is the best. Drag it to your desktop and then open it. I tapped into the intake and used the TBI's base plate to help hold the TV cable bracket. It's a tough deal though. It is quite a stretch for that cable. I have to take it to a pro and check the geometry of the throttle lever. RR here are the current specs and believe me...I NEED LOW END GRUNT TO DECLARE MAN! 3.73 (open unfortunatley) 26" tires 2004R 264 grind High torque design In opens @ 20 Ex @64 In closes @64 Ex @20 Duration @ .050 214˚ In valve lift .500 Ex .500

I have found from another member that early to mid eighties c-10 pickups came with sixes and overdrives,,,I'm waiting for some pictures,, the tv cable part number is not the same as other car/trucks,, it could be longer??? Junk yard dog time...
I scrapped the velocity tube for just the straight Caddilac airt duct. Can't remember what year it was but any Cadillac/maybe other GM models from the eighties and above with a TBI unit will have that air duct. Be careful though, The later model air ducts are restricted more than the older ones...take it off and take a peak inside of it. If it's hollow, you're good to go.
The air filter is from ITG.
