Get the vs 57 manual from Paradise Wheels. Follow there advice on spark curve(sbc and your 230 have the same combustion chambers or close enough).Your fuel curve is very important use a exhaust gas analizer to get it right. To get your electric fuel pump to work right the vent should be plumbed some where between blower outlet and carbs. Btw don't put your carb upstream of blower(draw through)the seal won't take fuel.Don't worry about floats 6 lbs won't hurt them. Your vs 57 is supposed to be quiet if it is noisy get it repaired. I didn't have any head gasket problems. For running on the edge you might consider a water alochol injection. It will work. It will be a lot of work. But well worth it.
