I want to run roller rockers but I also want to use my Offy cast aluminum valve cover on my 250 Chevy six. I know the aluminum rocker noses are too wide and bulky to fit under the Offy cover but has anyone been able to get the stainless roller rockers to fit. They look to be a alot thinner and are more tapered toward the nose. I know a roller tipped stamped steel rocker will fit but I really want to go with a full blown roller rocker. Any ideas?

Is the clearance problem with the sides of the cover, or with the top?
Depending on the amount of interference, if it's just the top, you may be able to use 2 gaskets instead of one, or if you don't like that, try making your own from a sheet of Buna-N rubber that you can order from McMaster-Carr.
If it's the sides, since its a cast alumunum cover, maybe a little work with a die grinder would do it?
Otherwise it's different arms like Larry suggests.

I really don't know because I haven't bought rockers yet but I have read several times that rollers rockers can have potential clearance problems with the Offy cast valve cover. I would expect it would be on the side of the cover on the number one and 6 cylinder. I was just hoping someone had might have had the same problem and steered me toward a rocker that would clear the cover or at least require the least amount of surgery. Thanks for your input.

If you don't mind the looks of a 235 valve cover, Stovebolt Engine Co makes an adapter
for the 250. It sould be roomy enough for any roller set up but check with Tom Langdon to be sure.
