All,

Just thinking how many people would be interested in getting a group buy together (interest only right now) and as a group we approach say DART or Brodix and find out how much the non-recurruing engineering is to get the patterns made to cast the heads. Since the cylinder centerline to centerline is the same a small block I can't see why this would be huge $$$$ take the existing pattern and add 2 clyinders in the middle. The main cost adder is to change the bolt pattern if we wanted a bolt on. Otherwise if we kept the SBC 5 bolt/cylinder pattern it would be less NRE but we would need to redrill the deck surface.

You have a good idea there But the Demand Is not there and It would be Very coslty to make a head. It's cheaper to cut and Weld to Heads together Then it would be to Have one made. And You do need to redill the blocks for The hybread Head(2V8 heads)You Also Need to Fab Up a Lifter Side cover Because of the V8head. So to have a Head Made like a V8head If you didn't redesign for the Push rods to fit the Block the right way You'd still have to Fab a side cover. SO again Still cheaper to Cut and weld two. Hope this helps.

Here in Brasil we have a 12 port head in the 250. But the water passages are a little diferent than the old siamesed ones. In fact the 12 port head is worst than the old one. We also have a Stock car race category here, but instead v8 they used the 250 until 1999 with the siamesed head which works better then 12 port one.
I agree with Larry when he says that cut and weld is easier.

Ed, are you referring to the Duggan Cylinder Head? Seen one on a real nice red 1948 Chev at Denver in 2000 but don't know much about them. I would have to think that somebody else here is more versed on these. I don't know whether they are available or not.

The only 12 port Head that I know of is Mike kirbys. But like i said before there never was a cross flow head for Chevy 194,230,250,292. Not unless you cut &weld up Two V8heads is the only way. hope this helps }[oooooo]

There is a twin cam aluminum conversion made in Australia, but it is only for their "local" Holden and Ford inlines. They were formerly known as Krogdahl

I was surfing in the net when I saw something that reminds me you.
Take a look at this site.

http://www.venenoparts.com.br/classificados.htm

This is a brazilian used parts classifieds so it is in Portuguese. When you click on the link above will apear the main page. In this page there is a main menu on the left. To find this thing you have to click on the link "Cabeçotes" that means heads in portuguese. In this link there is a 12 port cross flowed head made in Argentina. One US dollar is equals to 3 R$(reais. The current coin in here).
See if you enjoy it. Anything you need, talk to me!

The Kirby/ Sissell 12 port, which is not crossflow for good reason, is about as good as it gets. He also makes an excellent lump port head at very reasonable prices.
