Check out the engine and specs ? Have any of you guys seen this vehicle? Is this owned by an active inliner?

I have heard about this car but never have seen it. I think a inliner built it because the parts are stuff (Pistons and rods)that Mike Kirby sells. Someone that is not a inliner is selling it because 283 6 cyl. The car has small block 283 badging and doesnt know the diffrence. 10.0 in the quater is B.S. that car weight to much for 10.0s with all that stock suspenion. Yea it's got a nitrous plate system on it and a dominator that necks down to to 4150 carb flange :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

It is a super clean car though and heck of starting point for a fun little ride.

10 seconds? that would require 600+ HP in a car like that and if it could hook up well off the line.
Is an engine like that capable of 600 HP and still be sort of streetable?

Being that car has a 5 speed transmission would make it more streetable than a big high stall convertor setup. I have driven mine on the street but the tranmission gets hot! I see several things that would prevent low 10 second pass. 1-slapper bars for traction. It needs Caltrac bars hook alot harder. 2- there is no mico switch on the carb to turn on the nitrous. Pushing the button half way though a run not going to get you a 10.0 pass. 3-The gearing in the rear is to low. Nitrous motors like a tall gear like 3.70-3.90 maybe 3.50 with that transmission. That's if you put slicks on it. The street tires are not going to cut it!


It's sad that some guy paid $16,000 dollars for mid 11 second car. But it will be fun to drive on the street because it will feel fast when you roast the tires.

As sad as it is that the seller had no idea what they were talking about it is still a good thing.
Our secrets are safe. The V8 guys still haven't figured out what we're up to.

It's just too bad the new owner thinks it really will run in the 10s. I've looked at a few cars for sale over the years that the seller claimed ran some impressive numbers. Funny thing is when you ask for a timing slip they all of a sudden have lost them all. Dyno sheets and timing slips tell the story. Everything else is BS.

That engine probably turns 400HP at most, assuming a very generous boost of nitrous.

Mid-to-high 13s..............mmmmmmmM-A-Y-B-E.

I think $16K is not out of line for the Chevy II. That is if the majority of the pieces quoted are actually in the car. My guess is that Magic Mike is fairly close on ET and it potentially could get into the 12's if everything worked and the center section of the 8.2 did not come out the back. I would love to see the true roller timing chain...

Not only the true roller timing chain but the cam that it turns must be a real piece of the cam grinders art. It would have to be ground as a reverse rotation marine cam to work with a chain.
Makes you wonder how the oil pump now works unless that is a one-off too.

This shouldn't surpise anyone who is familiar with car stuff on Ebay. Half of it is poorly or just plain incorrectly described. Buyer beware, always...

12s I don't really think Is That hard Esp. On the Baby Blue.11s should be fair?? As their Used to be a 71 nova/Omega Here in Orlando many yrs ago That ran 12.30s I knew this guy when I first Built my 250 and started to run now and then at the Track and My car at That time Was Fresh(build) and Had the stock 3:08s in it Ran 24-7 hot Or cold 15s in 3rd. He told be If I ever desided to get The Right gears in it, It should Hit The Mid 13 mark.(or better) But I never got around to changing the Gears Until Many Yrs Later(12-14yrs later) When I started to run The nostalgia drags With the Inliners here. then it was only a Little gear change at a time first The Free 3:70s then Bought a set off 4:56 Then The 5:13s But by then It was 17 yrs later. So the Best a Now semi tired motor Ran a Best Of 14.4 in 3rd @95/96 in the 1/4 But now with the New Build hoping for that Low ball 12 if not the HIGH side of 11s But time will only Tell If i can Get the motor Paid for and Out of the machine shop and Back into the car LOL It mit Help If I stop Making changes Or up grades LOL But Hey

Leo Santucci's old '50 Chevy with turbocharged 292, pictured on this website, is a genuine 10-second car. This Nova will not come close to that. With some work, it might become a successful street racer, but it is not a full-fledged race car. It likely has more power than the chassis can put to the pavement, but it does not yet have enough engine or chassis to run with Leo or any genuine 10-second car.

Some folk appear to be getting rich on eBay . . . and some are a lot poorer. Woody Guthrie used to sing about how "some would rob you with a shotgun, others with a fountain pen." Many of those thieves have taken up computers, and Ebay appears to be their private preserve.

EBay is like any other business,"Buyer Beware".
I recently saw a guy list a Tom Langdon "new"
trans adapter for $500 !! Tom doesn't even charge that much.

It would to be fun , as an interested buyer, to make the following offer:

Will pay your asking price if you demonstrate it runs 10's

will pay 70% of your asking price if it only goes 11's

will pay 50% your asking price if it only goes 12's


Will give you $3500 w/ no demo, no questions asked or if it can't even run in the 12's.

And then just sit back and listen.

Now that we've all, myself included, had our fun criticizing the seller and have decided he is unwittingly advertising a kitten as a tiger; there is one possibility we overlooked. Maybe the claimed ET's are for an 1/8th mile strip????

I like Frenchtown's idea a lot. Gonna have to remember that one!
