These full-out fourbangers clearly offer an increasingly realistic and attractive alternative in a time when gasoline is moving past a $2.00 floor, especially in a roadster or Model A or other light chassis. The capital investment upfront will be substantial, but the operating expense may be considerably less than more traditional inline engines can offer. They could be more easily modified and adapted to street use in older chassis than the GM Vortec inlines with their modular construction and components.
