firstly ,supercharging an inline(no matter what type)is not expensive or exotic.check out e-bay for superchargers.eaton M90's or M112's go for around the $800 mark and setting them up on a 4bbl manifold is very easy, use a flat serpentine belt,a discarded con rod with a late model flat belt pulley(bolted to the small end) as an idler pulley,"o" ring the head(to aviod blown head gaskets),richen up the carby and basically you can do it(i did in my home workshop).after a lot of trial and error(installed an air flow meter to get the mixtures correct)test driving was a lot of fun and believe me it's the cheapest and easiest way to make a LOT of horsepower.you certinly don't need forged pistons or any exotic gear(if you keep the boost low-under 5lb's-even this is enough to increase you HP by 50%)cost,apart from the price of the blower, was less than $500(depending how much you can do yourself)buy any one of the good publications on street superchgarging or talk to someone who's done it-you really won't regret it!
