Let's take another look at this, okay?
You want a little more power without a big gas bill. Perhaps a better sounding car too.
I would do it this way:
Use the Clifford 4bbl intake with a small 4bbl carb because they have small 'primarys'. For passing etc.; you then have the 'secondary' option. A 'normal' drive would be ecconmical.
Use those steel headers with it for a great sound. With 30" glasspacks they should offset the difference in fuel usage between the 4bbl primarys & your stock 1bbl.
