So I have the opportunity to buy a downdraft redline weber two barrel, brand new and not a rebuilt for 150 bucks because some other customer flaked on the buy, so let me ask you this, is a redline weber better than the holley weber 5200 that replicates it? does it make better HP/better mileage? or are they just the same and I would be better off just buying tom langdons holley webber for 65$ Thanks in advance!!!

Most 261s run dual carbs (or more) depending on the CID and other modifications.

I don't think you'll be happy with a 'single' of any type, unless It's a 4bbl.

not for a 261, currently its for a 235, but isnt this better than the stock 1 bbl by far and for 150 bucks isnt this a great buy? better HP/ mileage right? on second thought though, i think it might be a holley weber posed as a redline weber, it looks exactly like the picture that tom langdon has of his holley weber including the shape of the air horn housing, more oval and smoother shaped than boxy like, did any redline webers look EXACTLY like the holley weber 5200's?

I haven't done a search for "Redline" yet and probably won't. The Holly/Weber 5200 is Hollys' licensed copy of the Weber DGAV 32/36 and the different variations, except the DCN.

Is it setup for 235?
Do you know what jets, emulsion tubes, etc.,,, are needed to set it up for a 235?

turns out it was a holley after all, not such a deal, glad i checked the net first, but are true webers better than holley webers or what?

The Redline 32/36 holley/weber is the same carb that Langdon has and Langdon is cheaper. Langdon has the linkage you need as well as the adaptor for you one barrel cast iron intake for the 235. And Langdons is jetted just about perfect. You'll be a happy camper with Langdons products. Save your money. (Holley/Weber 32/36 for the single carb replacement on the 235 and the Carter/Webers for the 2 carb set up on the 235).

makes me wonder why people pay through the nose for them though, the redline type that is, anyway, to all those that have the holley webber, a quick question, are the secondaries on that carb mechanical operation or vacume, the one that I saw at the parts store had mechanical secondaries, when I pulled the linkage the primary opened and then when it was 2/3 open the secondary opened until they both hit wide open together, I thought the holley webers were vacume secondary or am I just mistaken????

I have a Weber DGEV 32/36 that I'm running on a Nissan pickup, and it has a mechanical secondary. I got the carb from Redline through a dealer on the East coast, and I've been real happy with it for the last 4 or 5 years. The main difference between mine and the Holley 5200 is that the Weber uses and electric choke and the Holley has a water heated choke, but other than that, they're just about identical as far as I can tell.

dbane, the 32/36 holley/weber is the same carb, comes in electric, mechanical or water heated choke. Electric is what you want for the 235. Tell Langdon when you place your order which choke you want.
