The old wiring harness for the 52 chevy did not have fuses that I saw. Should I be adding fuses? My gut feeling is no. Any and all replies appreciated.

No question about it "USE FUSES"!!!The are many companies(Haywire,Parr Automotive&etc.) which offer inexspensive universal fuse blocks or panels which would be ideal for your application. You should use at least a 12 gauge or better, a 10 gauge wire to power the add-on fuse block . Run the wire from the ignition switch the fuse
panel,(the ignition switch will turn fuses on or off). Then power the accessories from this panel.-Paulweldit
NOTE: Be sure to wire your 12Volt gas gauge correctly-- it is actually an ohm meter so there is "NO POWER" going to the "GAS TANK" if in question about this "GET SOMEONE TO HELP" who is quailified.
