The voltmeter on my "292' with alternator reads 10.5 to 11 volts,shouldn't this be higher?My battery is constantly needing charged.So I assume its the alternator or a short. Thanks for all the info on this site.

A good system should be at least 13.8 volts.
The cheapest thing is to check the belt.
Next stop is to have the kid at FLAPS check it for you unless you've got a voltmeter.

Dear Ron;

The "charging range" (voltage) is 13.6 to 14.2, so your not charging etc.

If the belt's tight, have your Aternator tested as mentioned.

Good luck. \:\)
